As an experienced recruiter, I have learned that it’s not always the most qualified who lands the role, but rather, the individual who markets their abilities best. This is what the best candidates do to increase their chances of getting hired.

People In The Team Back You Up

The number one job of recruiters is to bring the best talent into the team. So when people in the hiring team already like you, that’s a recipe for success! It’s almost like getting multiple referrals within the company. The more people that back you and support your candidacy, the higher your chances of getting the job become.

Having Other Options

If you let the recruiter know other companies want you, they’ll want you more. Companies always want what others want. So, keep your options open, and continue with interviews even when things look promising. This will especially come in handy when you have multiple offers to choose from.

Having A Track Record Of Loyalty

If you’ve stayed with your past jobs for 2-3 years or more, it shows you’re loyal and recruiters really value that in today’s market. It signals dedication and the potential for long-term growth and contribution within the team.
