Human Resource Executive® is seeking candidates for its annual competition recognizing HR’s Rising Stars.
Do you work with an HR professional who has a demonstrated record of excellence, like recent winners, including Travis Windling of Royal Bank of Canada and Yolanda Seals-Coffield of PwC? Perhaps you supervise someone who deserves recognition for their tireless dedication to employees, like winners including Microsoft’s Dawn Klinghoffer, 15Five’s Jennie Yang and Freddie Mac’s Judy Huie?
Or, perhaps that person is you? If any of these conditions fit, you’re invited to submit a nomination for HR’s Rising Stars 2024. Nominations are due March 8, 2024. Click here to nominate yourself or a colleague.
Above are just a few of our recent winners, many of whom have fulfilled the potential named in the award. Seals-Coffield, for example, was honored for her work as deputy people leader at PwC and now is the Big Four firm’s chief people officer. Huie, then chief of staff to the CHRO, is now vice president, DEI, for Freddie Mac.
Now in its 19th year, the awards recognize HR professionals across a range of industries who are near the top of their organization’s HR functions and show a promising future as an HR leader. In particular, candidates must either head a major HR discipline or be the second-highest-ranked HR executive at the organization. They should have between three and 15 years of experience in HR or a related field and have been employed at their current organization for at least one year.
Candidates who nominate themselves must also include a letter of recommendation from a supervisor. Nominators can also be the organization’s senior-most HR executive, another senior leader within the company or a representative of a supplier organization (for the latter, the nominator must also submit a signed letter of recommendation from the employer). Nominators will be asked to detail three of the candidate’s accomplishments that had a lasting impact on the company’s HR function.
A panel of judges assembled by HRE, including former Rising Stars, will evaluate all nominees, weighing how well they have demonstrated personal initiative, leadership, courage and a results-oriented drive.
In addition to those named above, previous winners included up-and-coming talent at Nestlé, MGM Resorts, Aimbridge Hospitality West Pharmaceutical Services, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited and many more. Learn more about their stories of success.
