Randy Johnston, executive vice president of K2 Enterprises and chairman emeritus of Network Management Group, and Brian Tankersley, president of Adept Practices Inc., launched the 9th Annual Accounting Firm Operations and Technology Survey. The AFOT survey concerns decisions on technology budget spending, software adoption, practice management and other matters.
“We are always pleased to understand the technology in use by CPA firms across the United States,” said Johnston. “The survey provides operational information to CPA firm leading or managing partners while revealing new trends,”
People can take the survey by going to this linkl.
It is 74 questions long and takes about 30 minutes on average to complete. It covers areas such as:
- Demographics;
- Practice management;
- Technology management;
- Operating systems;
- Computer hardware;
- Application software;
- File and data storage and management;
- Remote access, internet and telecommunications;
- Technology spending and decision-making; and
- Annoyances and trends.
Only one survey respondent per firm is required; the survey respondent will receive a copy of the AFOT survey results e-book via email on or before Dec. 1, 2023. The best person to take the survey is the one most familiar with operations, practice management and technology, and how decisions in the firm are made.
“The survey’s validity is hugely important to us,” said Tankersley. “We take this aspect seriously due to critical operational and technology decisions being made by practitioners based on the trend lines our survey reveals. This survey is the premier benchmarking tool for practitioners nationally.”
