3 reasons to be there from the very start

3 reasons to be there from the very start

When I first began attending the HR Technology Conference about 15 years ago, the conference schedule and scope were quite a bit different than the event we have planned for next month.

Back then, the conference was “just” two-and-a-half days, starting with an opening keynote on a Wednesday, and ending with a closing keynote that wrapped up Friday morning. The Expo Hall was a big deal, even back then, but was not open until after the Wednesday morning keynote, and did not yet feature any of the expo highlights we’ve come to love at the “modern” HR Tech—Pitchfest, the Startup Pavilion, HR Tech Talks, the live HR Happy Hour Show, etc. And the popular Women in HR Tech Summit was also a few years away from being launched.

Fast-forward to today and a look at the HR Technology Conference agenda reveals that the fantastic content kicks off on Monday, Oct. 9—making HR Tech truly a weeklong celebration of the HR technology community. Hopefully, you have organized your travel arrangements (and talked to your management) accordingly and are planning to be with us starting Monday. If not, here are just a few highlights from the “pre-conference” day that I hope will help convince you to be at the event from the jump:

Katheryn Brekken

Building a Healthy, Productive and AI-Fueled Culture: Katheryn Brekken and Kevin Oakes from i4CP will share their research on the healthy cultural habits of high-performing organizations. The session will offer guidance on creating a healthier culture and better understanding of how technology—and especially AI—plays a critical role along the way.

Designing the Ultimate Employee and Workforce Experience: Join Mercer | Leapgen’s Jason Averbook and Alex Zea to help you kickstart your HR Tech Conference experience with the latest trends, strategies and best practices in designing the ultimate employee and workforce experience. This workshop will give you an outstanding foundation for the rest of your week at HR Tech.

Building an Adaptable HR Systems Strategy: Stacey Harris and Cliff Stevenson of Sapient Insights Group will lead a hands-on workshop to equip you with a working blueprint for an adaptable HR systems strategy. Their insights will help you create a solid foundation for your week of learning at HR Tech.

The value you will receive from attending even one, let alone all three, of these comprehensive, relevant and actionable sessions is probably worth the price of your full week at HR Tech. But these are “only” the pre-conference sessions that help to launch your week of education and community building at HR Tech.

Plus, if you come to Las Vegas in time to attend these sessions, you’ll be sure to be on time for Tuesday morning’s Women in HR Tech opening. (And trust me, you don’t want to be late for that, or you will run the risk of being in the standing-room-only area!)

The HR technology market has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 15 years, and it only makes sense that the world’s most important HR tech conference has grown and expanded right along with the market we follow. While it may be challenging, both personally and professionally, to spend a full week in Las Vegas at HR Tech, I can assure you if you manage to do that, it will be the most valuable week of your work year.

Hope to see you at HR Tech, bright and early (well, 10 a.m.—so, not too early) on Monday morning!
