RSM US LLP, a Top 10 Firm based in Chicago, has acquired Wise Consulting Associates Inc., a human capital management technology consulting firm based in Timonium, Maryland, effective May 1.
Wise Consulting dates back to 1996 and implements HR technology from UKG and Ceridian, while also providing payroll services. It is expected to become part of the RSM’s existing human capital services business. The group will initially operate as a wholly owned independent operating subsidiary of RSM until it transitions to RSM’s systems in late fall of this year.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. RSM ranked No. 5 on Accounting Today’s 2023 list of the Top 100 Firms, with revenue was $3.6 billion last year and 16,101 total employees. Wise Consulting has over 100 people.

Wise Consulting president and CEO Steve Grem will be joining RSM, along with practice leaders Jennifer Southworth, Marta Williams and Lorry Twisdale and the rest of the Wise Consulting team of human capital technology implementation and support consultants, payroll service providers, and support staff.

RSM was advised on the merger by martinwolf, a firm that handles mid-market mergers and acquisitions in the technology channel partner space.
Last year, RSM acquired Andculture, a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based marketing firm that provides client-facing marketing strategy, design and technology services, which launched a human-centered design practice at RSM.
