The Connecticut Society of CPAs will honor 14 women at the CTCPA Women’s Awards event Jan. 17, 2024, at the TPC River Highlands. CTCPA is bestowing the Distinguished Service award, recognizing CPAs with at least 15 years of experience who have advanced to a higher level or leadership position within their organizations, to: Melissa Beeler, managing director, Deloitte Tax; Mary Kay Curtiss, principal, CLA; Stacy Farber, audit partner, UHY; Teresa Opalacz, audit and consulting partner, Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski; Jennifer Schempp, partner, Beers, Hamerman, Cohen & Burger; the Women to Watch award, honoring CPAs with fewer than 15 years of experience who have made significant contributions to the profession and their communities, to:Rebecca Lyman, senior manager, CohnReznick; Amber Moore, partner, Goldblatt Bokoff; Katherine Patnaude, audit partner, PKF O’Connor Davies; and Lindsay Tessler, audit manager, Whittlesey; and the Aspiring CPAs award, recognizing outstanding women working in accounting or finance while progressing toward the CPA credential, to: Marissa Bartone, audit senior, Ernst & Young; Bridgette Eguizabal, senior internal auditor, Kaman Corporation; Emily Kindle, supervisor in the audit department, Whittlesey; Mariam Noorzad, senior assurance accountant, Ernst & Young; and Christina Roy, senior audit associate, Fiondella, Milone & LaSaracina.
