ISACA launches AI security credential
ShareShareShareShareShare

ISACA, sometimes also referred to as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, announced the launch of its new Advanced in AI Security Management certification, which lets professionals demonstrate their ability to implement enterprise artificial intelligence solutions while being able to identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risk.

The credential focuses on three key areas: AI governance and program management; AI risk management; and AI technologies and controls.

The AI governance and program management portion concerns knowledge regarding stakeholder considerations, industry frameworks, and regulatory requirements; AI-related strategies, policies, and procedures; AI asset and data life cycle management; AI security program development and management; and business continuity and incident response.

The AI risk management portion confirms skill at assessing and managing risks, threats, vulnerabilities and supply chain issues related to the enterprise-wide adoption of AI. This includes AI risk assessment, thresholds, and treatment; AI threat and vulnerability management; and AI vendor and supply chain management.

Finally, the AI technologies and controls portion focuses on optimizing AI security and highlights the credential holder’s knowledge of security technologies, techniques and controls tailored to AI systems. The certification is meant to demonstrate knowledge of AI security architecture and design; AI-related strategies, policies, and procedures; data management controls; privacy, ethical, trust and safety controls; and security controls and monitoring.

“We’re proud to be the leader in developing world-class AI-focused training and credentialing for professionals in IT audit and security,” said ISACA’s CEO, Erik Prusch, in a statement. “From a robust slate of courses and resources to the first advanced audit-specific AI certifications for experienced auditors and security managers, we are committed to finding groundbreaking ways to empower digital trust leaders to harness the transformative potential of artificial intelligence responsibly and effectively, while propelling their careers forward.”

“The AAISM credential validates information security managers’ commitment to elevating their expertise and proving they are attuned to how AI is reshaping enterprise security,” said Goh Ser Yoong, head of compliance at ADVANCE.AI, and a member of the ISACA Emerging Trends and IT Risk Advisory Working Groups. “AAISM’s synergy with existing, award-winning security credentials with a focus on AI is a key differentiator that will equip security leaders to excel and grow their careers in this dynamic security landscape.”

AAISM joins another recent ISACA certification, the ISACA Advanced in AI Audit credential, which can be earned by audit professionals who hold a Certified Information Systems Auditor or other qualified high-level audit certification. Certification is available through an exam offered by ISACA. The organization also has a number of test prep materials and educational supplements on its website.
