Doeren Mayhew, a Top 50 Firm based in Troy Michigan, has merged in Gerald Stinnett CPA PC, in Suwanee, Georgia, effective Dec. 1, 2025, growing its footprint in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Doeren Mayhew ranked No. 47 on Accounting Today‘s 2025 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $245 million in revenue, 180 principals, 850 staff members and 21 offices, while Gerald Stinnett earned $2 million in revenue and has six employees, including two partners, and one office that has consolidated with Doeren Mayhew’s existing Atlanta office.

Gerald Stinnett CPA dates back to 1983 and offers tax, accounting and consulting services to for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited to offer our valued clients with an expanded scope of services and resources that will now be available by joining forces with Doeren Mayhew,” Stinnett said in a statement Wednesday. “The accounting industry continues to evolve because of technology, regulations and complexity that require the level of sophisticated infrastructure Doeren Mayhew brings to the table. This also represents a tremendous opportunity for us to provide our staff with access to value-added training, opening doors for continued career growth.”

Doeren Mayhew, founded in 1932, has been growing rapidly in recent years, after receiving a private equity investment from Audax Private Equity in August 2024, prompting it to split into an alternative practice structure with Doeren Mayhew Advisors on the non-attest side and Doeren Mayhew Assurance on the attest side.

The firm entered the Atlanta market last July when it acquired the AGL CPA Group in Duluth, Georgia.

“Through this acquisition, Doeren Mayhew continues on a pattern of sustained growth,” said Jay Robbins, Doeren Mayhew’s greater Atlanta managing principal, in a statement. “We are excited to have Gerald and team join us. Given the business and client-service philosophies are already aligned, I’m confident the transition will be seamless for their clients while offering them access to additional senior-level experts and an enhanced portfolio of services.”

Other recent deals include Doeren Mayhew’s acquisitions last year of Lancaster & Reed in Key Biscayne, Florida; TBK CPA in Houston, McMurray, Fox & Associates in Hendersonville and Gallatin, Tennessee; Novotny CPA Group in Norton Shores, Michigan; Carson & McKinney CPAs and Thurman Campbell Group in Tennessee; Reimer McGuinness Hess CPAs and Advisors in Houston; Benoit & Associates CPAs in Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Draper Bialik & Co. CPAs in Grand Haven, Michigan.
