JA Del Río, based in Guadalajara, Mexico, adds 500 employees across Mexico, Colombia and Costa Rica to Plante Moran’s existing Mexico team. The deal is the Top 25 Firm’s largest international expansion to date and is part of its strategy to strengthen its international presence across Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

Jason Drake

“We’re really excited about this because it continues to show the marketplace that we want to serve our clients no matter where they have operations,” Jason Drake, managing partner of Plante Moran, told Accounting Today. “We’re going to continue working to find the right firms and the great capabilities to build that overall, global service level capabilities that our clients need and want.”

JA Del Río is a long-time partner of Plante Moran, making this deal a natural extension of its existing relationship. Bernardo Del Río, managing partner at JA Del Río, will join the firm as managing partner of its LatAm offices. Together, the firms will serve clients across manufacturing and distribution, service, health care, life sciences, private equity, financial services, real estate, construction, energy and more.

Plante Moran ranked No. 14 on Accounting Today‘s 2026 Top 100 Firms list, with nearly $1.2 billion in revenue, 366 partners and over 4,000 employees across 20 offices. Drake said the firm is exploring other markets outside of its existing presence in the U.S., Mexico, China, India and Japan, but its priority is organic growth.

“We may do more combinations, but our main focus area is really organic growth, and doing that through developing teams and building excellent client service, trusted business advisors,” Drake said.
