Citrin Cooperman today acquired LGA, a Boston-area accounting and business advisory firm.

LGA services mid-market businesses, entrepreneurs and families. The deal expands the Top 25 Firm’s New England footprint and adds roughly 150 professionals to the team.

Citrin acquired “substantially all the assets” of LGA. As is common for firms operating in alternative practice structures, Citrin Cooperman Advisors will acquire LGA’s non-attest assets, while Citrin Cooperman & Company will acquire its attest assets.

“This combination represents an important step forward for our firm, our clients and our professionals,” John Geraci, managing partner of LGA, said in a statement. “We’ve always believed that if you build the right environment, one grounded in trust, shared values and balance, the results will follow. Citrin Cooperman shares that belief. Our longstanding relationships with Citrin Cooperman partners like Mark Henry, built over many years in the Boston market, reinforced for us that this was the right cultural and strategic fit. By joining Citrin Cooperman, we can preserve what makes LGA special while giving our team broader opportunities, additional support and access to continued investments in innovation and AI-enabled capabilities.”

Citrin Cooperman, based in New York City, ranked No. 16 on Accounting Today‘s 2026 Top 100 Firms list. It reported $985 million in revenue, with 480 partners and over 3,500 employees across 38 offices.

The firm is backed by private equity. Last January, Citrin Cooperman transferred its PE ownership from New Mountain Capital to Blackstone — making it the first accounting firm to complete this kind of deal.

“LGA has built an outstanding firm, and from our first conversations it was clear that John and his team share our belief that great firms succeed by investing in their people, embracing innovation, and earning clients’ trust every day,” Citrin Cooperman Advisors CEO Alan Badey said in a statement. “That shared mindset, combined with LGA’s exceptional reputation, makes this a natural fit. We’re excited to welcome the LGA team as we continue growing our presence across New England.”

In May, Citrin acquired Sharff, Wittmer, Kurtz, Jackson & Diaz in Miami. In February it added Browne Consulting Group in Boston.
