Certinia acquires Moonnox, launches suite of AI agents

Professional services automation solutions provider Certinia announced that, through its recent acquisition of AI-based service delivery platform Moonnox, customers now have access to a suite of AI agents that automate administration, project management and project deliverables.

“Professional services firms are at a critical inflection point,” said Certinia CEO DJ Paoni in a statement. “They must leverage AI to transform  productivity, but that only works if teams can trust the output without manual rework. Acquiring Moonnox empowers services teams with the exact  context they need, right when they need it. With compounding AI that captures organizational  intelligence and improves with every project, we are giving our customers the definitive edge to win  today and the foundation to lead tomorrow.”

The agents, instead of being restricted to a single workflow, capture context in real time across apps like Salesforce, G-Suite, Microsoft 365, Jira, Confluence, Zoom and more. This serves to synthesize siloed employee knowledge without the need to rebuild or remap work.

Operating through Certinia’s Veda AI, the platform can automatically craft tailored proposal responses directly from sales context and orchestrate the handoff. It can manage scoping and planning by turning high-level business needs into practical solution architectures and structured, phased implementation roadmaps. It includes an on-demand universal assistant that manages daily tasks, summarizes meeting conversations and continuously analyzes communication. The product can execute automated scope scans, generate real-time sentiment scoring and translate complex system assessments into actionable roadmaps. It also organizes delivery data and lessons learned  into a searchable, firm-wide knowledge base.

“Services firms are sitting on billions of dollars in unclaimed value tied up in the manual work across winning a deal and delivering it,” said Robert Ong, co-founder and CEO of Moonnox, which is now part of  Certinia. “What excites me most is the combination: Moonnox’s ability to capture what happens in the room, paired with Certinia’s system of record and agentic capabilities for services operations, closes a gap neither of us could close alone. Together, we give services firms the foundation to capture that value, deliver with confidence, and evolve their operating models for the future.”

While Certinia did not disclose the specific financial terms of the acquisition, a spokesperson said this was a highly strategic investment made from a position of financial strength.

The spokesperson also said the Moonnox team, including its founders and cross-functional talent across product, technology, go-to-market and business operations, will be joining Certinia. Meanwhile, the Moonnox brand will be folded into Certinia’s Veda portfolio.

The move comes a little over half a year after Certinia announced new automation, insight and operational capacities as part of its winter release (see previous story). This release had new and upgraded features, including the Project Assistant Agent, which acts proactively to identify data anomalies, such as missing time cards, overdue project items and milestones approaching critical status; Customer Account Summaries, which give an instant overview of an account, including CS activities, key stakeholders, executive summaries and strategic insights; and Dynamic Playbooks, which can be used to create customized workflows based on business policies, best practices and customer-specific insights, among other things.
