GBQ Partners LLC, a Top 100 Firm based in Columbus, Ohio, has expanded its presence in Cincinnati by acquiring Wirth Lowe Wissemeier CPAs Inc., effective Dec. 16, 2024.
WLW employees are relocating to GBQ’s Cincinnati office. As part of the deal, Glenn Wissemeier and Beth Herman of WLW will join the GBQ team as partners. They have extensive experience in financial statement accounting, business and individual income tax, and consulting services for businesses and its owners.
“The commitment and effectiveness of the WLW team’s mission to empower their clients with the knowledge and resources necessary to grow their businesses and organizations over the years has been impressive,” said Chad Williams, managing director of GBQ’s Cincinnati office, in a statement Thursday. “The drive and purpose they bring to each engagement are in complete alignment with GBQ’s mission and objectives. WLW is a welcome addition to the GBQ family, and we look forward to working together to further empower our region’s business community with our combined expertise and experience.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. GBQ Partners ranked No. 99 on Accounting Today‘s 2024 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $59.52 million in annual revenue, approximately 30 partners and over 250 employees.
Robert Wirth and Steven Lowe founded WLW in the mid-1980s. In 2004, after nearly a decade of working at Grant Thornton, Wissemeier joined its ranks. In 2006, after being named partner, “Wissemeier” was added to the firm’s legal name, and WLW was formed. Herman joined in 2007 after working at Grant Thornton and, later, Cincinnati Bell. In 2009, she was named partner.
“Joining forces with GBQ is a natural next step in our own story,” said Wissemeier in a statement. “Our clients are gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience of a Top 100 CPA firm while maintaining the personalized service and attention they have come to know and expect from working with the WLW team.”
