The Matthews & Johnson deal will extend Abip’s market into a new location, where it offers the resources of a 100-person firm with offices in San Antonio, Houston and The Woodlands, Texas. The combined firm will offer audits, reviews, cybersecurity, specialty tax services, transactional advisory and a wider array of consulting services.
“The goal is to provide a well-rounded, comprehensive client experience for the New Braunfels community,” Abip managing partner Scott Irvine said in a statement. “We feel this merger will bring an enhanced and dynamic support infrastructure to the Matthews & Johnson clients.”
“As the businesses and individuals in the community move through different stages of their lifecycle, their needs change,” said Matthews & Johnson managing partner Kirby Johnson in a statement. “We feel that being part of Abip will bring the expertise our clients may need when the time comes for them to make either once-in-a-lifetime or a critical decision related to their business or personal financial situation”.
Brehm, Havel & Co. offers tax and advisory guidance. “We are excited to have the additional resources Abip provides,” said co-founder Gene Brehm in a statement. “Being part of the combined firm enables us to continue the level of service our clients expect and adds to our depth, with expertise in tax, accounting, and assurance, as well as the additional advisory services that Abip provides.”
Financial terms of both deals were not disclosed.
“The vast network and depth we are able to bring to our clients is critical, and we will always put our clients as the top priority,” stated co-founder Gayle Havel.
