ShareShareShareShareShare

PwC US has elected Paul Griggs as its next senior partner, succeeding Tim Ryan after Ryan retires on June 30.

Griggs has worked at PwC for nearly 30 years and currently works as vice chair of U.S. markets. overseeing the strategy and execution of the commercial, people, community and quality efforts across more than 90 offices. He’s been lead client partner for some of the Big Four firm’s largest clients and also co-leads My+, the firm’s people strategy that includes upskilling the entire workforce on generative AI. Previously he worked as the banking and capital markets leader; managing partner for the New York metro region, and financial services assurance leader in the Carolinas. He was elected by the firm’s more than 4,000 partners and principals in the U.S. and Mexico to a four-year term beginning July 1.

“I’m grateful to my fellow partners for selecting me to lead the firm into our next chapter of growth,” Griggs said in a statement Monday. “We are in an era of reinvention, with many companies looking to transform their businesses through data, AI and other advancing technologies while also building greater trust with stakeholders and upholding the integrity of the capital markets. Our purpose and strategy get at the heart of these goals. Alongside our incredible team of 75,000 partners and people, I look forward to building on the firm’s foundation of success to serve our clients in new ways and deliver on our purpose.”

Griggs is succeeding Tim Ryan, who has served as U.S. senior partner since 2016 and worked at PwC for 35 years.

“Serving this incredible firm is one of my greatest honors,” Ryan said in a statement. “I am so proud of how our 75,000 partners and people team together to build trust and deliver sustained outcomes — from enhancing confidence in the capital markets to supporting our clients as they navigate AI, climate transition, supply chain challenges and more. With the pace of change accelerating, our partners chose an immensely talented person to take the helm at this pivotal moment. I couldn’t be more excited to see all the firm will accomplish under Paul’s leadership!”

Tyson Cornell, who chairs the PwC US board of partners and principals, praised Ryan’s leadership.

“Tim has been an incredible steward and leader of PwC US for the past seven-plus years,” he said in a statement. “His relentless dedication to our clients, partners, people and culture — coupled with his exceptional leadership — has made our firm stronger. I know he will continue to make a great impact outside the firm as well.”
