SEC gives guidance on new EDGAR system
ShareShareShareShareShare

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s new EDGAR — Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval — system will go live on March 24.

Once live, filers can begin enrolling in “EDGAR Next” by submitting an amended Form ID, the application used to obtain EDGAR access credentials. The SEC provided guidance and resources to help filers with the changes and enhancements to the system.

“We appreciate the tremendous interest from both individual filers and the filing industry in our kickoff webinars and technical developer sessions, and we will continue to provide resources and assistance to ensure a seamless transition to EDGAR Next for filers,” Jed Hickman, director of the SEC’s EDGAR Business Office, said in a statement.

Filers can view instructional videos on the SEC’s YouTube channel, which includes an overview of the new system dashboard, step-by-step instructions to obtain the individual account credentials needed to access the dashboard, and more.

The SEC also released “How Do I” guides that explain how to obtain Login.gov individual account credentials and how to enroll in EDGAR Next. Filers can also find answers to frequently asked questions on the EDGAR Next webpage.

For more assistance, filers can email EDGARNextBet@sec.gov or call (202) 551-8900, option #2.
