Aprio LLP, a Top 50 Firm based in Atlanta, is adding Rubens Partners LLP, a firm based in Lafayette, California, expanding the firm’s presence in the Bay Area, effective Dec. 1.

As part of the deal, two partners, Sharon Rubens and Linda Martins, and 12 staff members will be joining Aprio from Rubens Partners, and Aprio will have a total of 194 partners and over 2,100 team members. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Aprio ranked No. 26 on Accounting Today‘s 2023 of the Top 100 Firms, with $318 million in annual revenue.

Rubens Partners specializes in serving small businesses, high-net-worth individuals, family groups, trust and estate clients.

“Our partnership with Rubens Partners further solidifies our presence on the West Coast, promising enhanced value and an even brighter future for our clients,” said Aprio CEO and managing partner Richard Kopelman in a statement Tuesday.

Rubens Partners will relocate from Lafayette to Aprio’s existing Walnut Creek office and join Aprio’s West Coast team, led by West Coast regional leader Tom Neff.

“Joining forces with Aprio is a significant step forward for our team, allowing us to access additional resources and a broader network while continuing to provide the exceptional service our clients have come to expect,” said partner Sharon Rubens in a statement.

“We are confident that this will create new growth opportunities and enhance the collective capabilities of our teams,” said partner Linda Martins. Together, we will be better equipped to meet the evolving needs of our clients and the communities we serve.”

Aprio has completed over 20 M&A deals since 2017, bringing on, among others, Antares Group, Culotta, Scroggins, Hendricks & Gillespie, Aronson, Salver & Cook, Gomerdinger & Associates, Tobin & Collins, Squire + Lemkin, LBA Haynes Strand, Leaf Saltzman, RINA and Tarlow and Co.
