MWA, based in Punta Gorda, Florida, services closely held businesses, contractors, professional services firms, medical practices, homeowner and condominium associations, and high-net-worth individuals. The deal adds 15 employees, including firm leaders Betsy McMillan and Ray Whiteman, to Doeren Mayhew’s audit and tax practice, and marks the firm’s third acquisition in the state this year.

“This acquisition represents another important step in our long-term Florida growth strategy, reflecting our focused approach to building a stronger, more connected presence across the state,” Doeren Mayhew Advisors CEO Chad Anschuetz said in a statement. “We continue to see tremendous opportunity to grow alongside firms that share our commitment to technical excellence, exceptional client service and long-term relationships. Betsy, Ray and their talented team bring a strong reputation and deep relationships in the market that will further strengthen our presence along Florida’s southern Gulf Coast and expand the depth of expertise available to clients in the region.”

Doeren Mayhew, based in Troy, Michigan, ranked No. 37 on Accounting Today‘s 2026 Top 100 Firms list. It reported $240 million in revenue, and now has over 1,300 employees nationwide and nearly 1,500 globally,

The firm received a private equity investment from Audax Private Equity in August 2024, with a goal to grow its geographic footprint through continued acquisitions. This year, it has acquired Parlade Schaefer Schortz in Florida, and New York-based advisory firm 1RDG. In 2025, the firm completed 13 deals, expanding into markets such as Nashville, Atlanta and Miami.

“As the accounting profession continues to evolve, we recognize the importance of aligning with a firm that offers the resources, innovation and specialized expertise needed to support our clients for the long term,” MWA leaders Whiteman and McMillan said in a joint statement. “Joining Doeren Mayhew allows us to focus more of our time on client relationships while leveraging the firm’s operational support, technology and expanded service offerings. We’re excited to provide our clients with access to a broader range of capabilities while continuing to serve them from the community where we’ve built our practice and be part of a firm that’s investing in the future of the profession.”
