Doeren Mayhew, a  Top 50 Firm based in Troy, Michigan, has expanded to the greater Atlanta region with the addition of AGL CPA Group, in Duluth, Georgia, effective July 16.

AGL brings more than 20 employees to Doeren Mayhew. Jay Robbins will act as the managing principal in the region, while its other partners Bradley Sienkiewicz, Jim Leutenegger, Justin Bailey and Daniel Cassandra will join the firm’s leadership team as principals.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Doeren Mayhew ranked No. 47 on Accounting Today‘s 2025 list of the Top 100 Firms and earned $235 million in revenue.

The transaction establishes Doeren Mayhew’s presence in the region with a new Duluth office and strengthens the capabilities of several of its practice areas, including tax, audit, transaction advisory, CFO advisory, manufacturing, construction, real estate and professional services.

Doeren Mayhew received a private equity investment from Boston-based Audax Private Equity last August. It operates under an alternative practice structure, separating its attest and non-attest businesses.

The firm plans to capitalize on AGL’s deep technology, broker-dealer and alternative investments sector experience to expand its industry reach.

“Finding the right strategic partner in the Atlanta community was an important part of our vision for growth in the Southeast,” said Doeren Mayhew CEO Chad Anschuetz in a statement Monday. “AGL’s established presence of reputable work and technical expertise will accelerate our growth trajectory in this pivotal international hub. We are excited to welcome the AGL team to the Doeren Mayhew family, and we look forward to serving the local community with them by our side.”

“We’re thrilled to join Doeren Mayhew,” said Bradley Sienkiewicz, AGL’s co-founder and managing partner, in a statement. “Culture was the most important factor in finding a partner to grow alongside. Doeren Mayhew shares a common culture of excellence, great people and bullish vision for the future. Combining forces seems like a natural progression for AGL. It gives us the dynamic platform to provide expansive resources and solutions to our clients, while providing unparalleled career opportunities to our team.”

Koltin Consulting Group CEO Allan Koltin advised both firms on the combination. “Expanding into the Atlanta market was a high priority for Doeren Mayhew, and they found the perfect firm in AGL. AGL is young, entrepreneurial and has a great reputation in the technology space. Doeren Mayhew has had significant success in executing on its M&A and lateral talent strategies.”

AGL marks Doeren Mayhew’s sixth addition this year. The firm recently expanded in the Houston and West Michigan areas with the acquisitions of Reimer McGuinness Hess CPAs and Advisors; Vanessa Solá’s practice of Frierson, Solá, Simonton & Kutac PLLC; Benoit & Associates CPAs; and Draper Bialik & Co. CPAs. In March, the firm expanded to Nashville through the acquisition of Thurman Campbell Group.
