Franklin Alliance adds Howard, Nunn & Bloom

Franklin Alliance, a venture capital-backed company that helps small and midsized firms scale, acquired Cincinnati-based Howard, Nunn & Bloom.

The transaction is the platform’s third deal since its founding in late 2024 as an alternative to private equity. In December 2024, it acquired Bement & Company, based in the greater Salt Lake City area. In July 2025, it acquired Robert Morris & Company, based in Pennsylvania.

always been the impact we can have on business owners in our local communities,” Bryan Bloom, managing partner of Howard, Nunn & Bloom, said in a statement. “The Franklin Alliance was the only partner that offered the best of both worlds. It gives us the capital and technological firepower of a national firm, but allows us to keep the autonomy and personal relationships that our clients in Cincinnati trust. We aren’t just a satellite office; we are partners in a shared vision.”

The firm has serviced clients across medical and dental, restaurants, transportation and logistics, construction, real estate investors and service-based businesses for over 35 years. It has more than 15 employees.

Franklin Alliance also announced Randy Crabtree and Jon Segal joined its strategic advisory board, which already includes Rick Deher, Allan Koltin, Kimi Ellen and others. Crabtree is the cofounder of Tri-Merit and host of The Unique CPA podcast. He’s been featured on Accounting Today’s Top 100 People list. Segal is a regional partner at Top 25 Firm Aprio.
