The GASAC provides input to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, which the FAF oversees, on strategic and technical issues, project priorities and other matters affecting standards setting for state and local government accounting. GASAC members consult with GASB on technical issues on the board’s agenda, project priorities, matters likely to require GASB’s attention, along with the selection and organization of task forces, and other matters requested by GASB or its chair, Joel Black.

All of the GASAC appointees’ terms will start Jan. 1, 2026. Three new GASAC members will serve a two-year term and are eligible to be reappointed for up to two additional consecutive two-year terms. They are:

  • Tyler Montana Prescott, Clarke County, Alabama;
  • Jamie Wayman, Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System; and
  • Linda Ragland, University of New Hampshire.

The GASAC members who are being reappointed to a second two-year team are:

  • Deborah Miller, State of Illinois;
  • David Goldman, Oak Harbor, Washington;
  • John Liszewski, Yonkers, New York;
  • Christine Clarke, State of Kansas;
  • Robert Weber, Moody’s Investors Service;
  • Robert Bland, University of Northern Texas; and
  • Michelle Watterworth, Plante Moran.

The GASAC members who are being reappointed to a third and final term are:

  • Robert Scott, Prosper, Texas;
  • Anita Kovacs, Pensacola State College;
  • Scott DeViney, Washington State Auditor’s Office; and
  • Harriet Richardson, Bay Area Rapid Transit.

Four members are departing from the GASAC on Dec. 31, 2025. Those members and the organizations they represent include: Karen Wiesman, Association of School Business Officials International; Ricky Hatch, National Association of County Auditors; Karen Carraher, National Association of State Retirement Administrators; and Suzanne Lowensohn, American Accounting Association.

“On behalf of the FAF Board of Trustees, I am pleased to welcome the newly appointed members of the GASAC,” said Edward Bernard, chair of the FAF Board of Trustees, in a statement. “These individuals bring a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives that will greatly benefit the GASB as it advances important projects and addresses key issues. We also wish to sincerely thank the departing members for their commitment and meaningful service in supporting the standards-setting process.”
