HR software companies were well-represented on this year’s Best Companies for Women listing, released by Comparably. The firm ranked ADP in the top spot and Workday in the third, based on feedback from millions of current female employees at tens of thousands North American companies.
Workday was ranked one of Comparably’s Best Company for Women in three of the last five years, while ADP has received the nod four times since 2021. ADP was also the recipient of other recent Comparably accolades: CEO Maria Black was named the top chief executive in the company’s 2025 rankings.
For the Best Company for Women list, respondents rate their employers across 20 categories, from company culture to benefits and professional development.
ADP garnered nearly 2,000 employee reviews, 91% of which were positive. Of Workday’s approximately 900 employee reviews, 94% were positive. At both firms, Comparably notes, the negative reviews focus on strengthening work culture.
ADP and Workday were joined by second-ranked publishing company Elsevier, with Microsoft and building materials firm Nucor Corp. rounding out the top five. Elsewhere on the list, HR firm Beacon Hill ranked 13th, and HR software provider PlanSource was 40th. Meanwhile, Google came in at 27.
On the SMB list, HR and staffing firm Innovien Solutions ranked in second place, while HR software provider BrightHR was sixth, HR and staffing firm G&A Partners ranked eighth.
