PwC is expanding its U.K. consulting business as part of a shakeup at the professional services firm to give clients a more globally integrated approach.

The U.K. arm of the Big Four accountancy firm said on Tuesday it is merging its consulting and risk divisions, shrinking its offering from five service lines to four.
The change is in response to growing demand from clients for “globally integrated advisory services,” PwC UK said in an emailed statement.
The firm’s U.K. senior partner Marco Amitrano said the move “reflects our focus on clients, technology and global developments, and how we’re continually transforming to ensure PwC’s ongoing relevance to our clients.”
Consulting head Jonathan House will lead the new enlarged unit, while head of risk Claire Reid will become the firm’s chief technology and innovation officer when the changes go live on July 1.
The rejig is part of a wider push to standardize the PwC’s consulting business worldwide and make greater use of shared staff in lower cost locations such as India, the Financial Times reported.
