Rehmann, a Top 50 Firm based in Troy, Michigan, is expanding in its home state by adding Walker, Fluke & Sheldon PLC in Western Michigan, effective Aug. 1, 2024.

The deal adds WFS’s offices in Hastings, Ionia and Richland, Michigan. WFS was founded in 1976 and currently has 22 associates, offering services such as bookkeeping, estate planning, tax planning, auditing, technology consulting and HR solutions.

“WFS is known regionally as a great community partner in West Michigan and shares Rehmann’s values of fostering meaningful relationships with clients,” said Rehmann CEO Stacie Kwaiser in a statement Tuesday. “The collective WFS associate team will be a great addition to the firm and will help us continue to maximize client potential in that region.”

Kwaiser recently told Accounting Today how she has been building a CEO Associate Advisory Council at Rehmann with staff and senior managers from across the firm who meet quarterly to plan the future of the firm.

Financial terms of the WFS deal were not disclosed. Rehmann ranked No. 38 on Accounting Today‘s 2024 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $203.8 million in annual revenue. Rehmann has over 1,000 employees, including more than 150 partners.

“We are incredibly excited to be joining the Rehmann family and look forward to the new opportunities it will provide for our associates and clients,” said WFS managing partner Kathy Sheldon in a statement. “I am eager to continue working directly with our clients, maintaining our commitment to providing the best services and building the best relationships possible. Rehmann shares all our core values, and we are confident this business combination will allow all parties to flourish.”

In 2022, Rehmann merged in Vestal & Wiler in Orlando, Florida, and had several M&A deals in 2018 in other parts of Michigan and Florida.
