Iran’s top security official Ali Larijani has threatened the US and Israel with military strikes of unprecedented force.
“Yesterday, Iran fired missiles at the United States and Israel, and they did hurt,” the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council wrote on X, adding, “Today, we will hit them with a force that they have never experienced before.”
Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf vowed to avenge Khamenei’s killing. “We swear by your pure blood that we will make your enemies and murderers beg [for mercy],” he wrote on X.
Iran’s foreign ministry warned that the assassination of Iran’s leader and other commanders set a “dangerous precedent” and was a “shocking shift towards the rule of bullying and force” at the global level. It called on the UN Security Council to “safeguard principles aimed at preventing the dominance of force”.
