Trump moves to smash Biden policies with barrage of executive orders

After saying goodbye to Joe and Jill Biden, Trump and Vance returned to the Capitol to address a crowd.

“I didn’t know exactly what the President would put in that speech, and I hope to myself that he wasn’t going to hold back, and, sir, you didn’t hold back. That was a hell of a way to start the next four years”, Vance said to the president. He also said he was grateful the ceremony was moved indoors.

Trump started off saying saying he is also glad the ceremony was held indoors, touting the acoustics of the Capitol rotunda. “It was perfectly the best, the best acoustics, I think I’ve ever heard in a room.”

The president also lauded Vance and his wife, Usha Vance. “This is a great, beautiful couple and unbelievable career. I just said to [Vance], you are very upwardly mobile, because he hasn’t been doing it that long, but he picked it up so quickly.”
