UHY added Cincinnati-based firm Flynn & Company, expanding its reach into Ohio.

UHY, based in Farmington Hills, Michigan, ranks No. 26 on Accounting Today‘s 2025 Top 100 Firms list. In December 2024, it took a private equity investment from Summit Partners in Boston. This deal adds to UHY’s existing presence in the Great Lakes region. UHY reported $384.7 million in revenue, with 42 offices and over 2,000 employees.

“Cincinnati is a thriving economic hub with a strong business community,” Steven McCarty, chairman and CEO at UHY, said in a statement. “With its diverse industries and dynamic entrepreneurial spirit, the need for comprehensive, high-quality accounting services has never been greater. This combination allows us to expand our footprint, enhance our client relationships, bring even more value to businesses in the region and enhance our national reach. We are excited to welcome the Flynn team and their clients to UHY.”

Flynn & Company, founded in 1994, offers tax, assurance and advisory services to clients throughout the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Managing partner Richard Flynn will bring his team to UHY and transition to the firm’s first Cincinnati office.

“Rick and the entire Flynn & Co. team add distinct expertise and access to the Cincinnati market,” said Tom Callan, Great Lakes region managing director at UHY, in a statement. “Boasting near $200 billion in GDP, Cincinnati is one of the fastest-growing markets in the Great Lakes region.”

“From the moment we connected with UHY, it was evident that our values, culture and client-first approach were perfectly aligned,” Flynn said in a statement. “As I considered the future of our firm, I knew that joining UHY would provide our clients with greater access to national expertise while creating new opportunities for our team. This partnership will enable us to expand services, enhance resources and continue delivering the personalized guidance our clients expect.”
