Wolters Kluwer launches AI upgrades for audit, client collaboration

Wolters Kluwer announced the release of new AI-powered features for client collaboration and audit engagements for its CCH Axcess suite of solutions at the CCH Connections User Conference in California. 

The company’s expanded Expert AI capacities, now woven throughout the entire CCH Axcess Suite, focus on embedding proprietary generative and agentic intelligence across audit workflows. Across the CCH Axcess Audit suite, including CCH Axcess Engagement, CCH Axcess Validate, and Knowledge Coach, auditors will be able to interact with intelligent agents that  automate routine steps, analyze complex documents and surface actionable insights. 

“With Expert AI agentic capabilities in the CCH Axcess Audit suite, we’re setting a new bar for intelligent audit,” said Cathy Rowe, senior vice president and segment leader for the U.S. professional market for Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting, in a statement. “From document analysis to orchestrated testing, we’re delivering practical AI that changes the pace and precision of engagements.”

The first agentic release with these new capacities is a set of Document Analysis Agents that coordinate with each other to use generative AI and large language models to analyze critical documents — including board minutes, lease agreements and revenue contracts. The agents can then provide actionable summaries, automatically highlight key risks and findings, and allow auditors to ask follow-up questions and dig deeper into results. 

Document Analysis Agents will integrate with CCH Axcess Engagement and CCH Axcess Knowledge Coach.

Other audit-related capabilities that will be rolled out in the future include AI-enabled testing and dynamic data visualizations that deliver real-time insights within CCH Axcess Engagement Pro; new audit APIs that can help users automate engagement setup, workpaper management and trial balance integration; a global expansion of CCH Validate, making the cloud-native audit confirmation solution available in multiple countries; and migration tools that provide expanded support for transitioning to CCH Axcess.

Wolters Kluwer also announced the release of CCH Axcess Client Collaboration — powered by Expert AI, which facilitates client community and management through AI-powered automation and insights. 

The solution lets users automate document collection, engagement letter creation and e-signature integration within a secure, cloud-native environment. The software also uses AI to do document classification and data extraction, with smart assistants that can accelerate tax preparation and client communications. Users can access customizable questionnaire templates, as well as deadline tracking and auto-summarization, to keep engagements on track and clients informed. The solution also boasts privacy-by-design architecture and trusted, expert-curated content. It is intended to be scalable for firms of all sizes.
