XRP price is back trading at $1.40 as Ripple’s monthly escrow relock removed 700 million XRP from circulation. Yesterday morning, Ripple unlocked 1 billion XRP, then relocked 70% of it, resulting in a net release of 300 million tokens.
The relock, valued at approximately $974 million at prevailing prices, was confirmed across multiple on-chain batches on the XRP Ledger. The timing also overlapped with the conclusion of Ripple’s XRP Las Vegas 2026 conference, where XRP was positioned as a future global reserve currency, driving a 2–4% pop that outpaced a largely flat altcoin market.
During the Vegas event, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin simultaneously listed on OKX across 280+ spot pairs, adding bridge-asset utility to the rally thesis. Undeniable, Ripple is rippling, but can XRP follow?

XRP cleared the $1.39 breakout level and is now consolidating above the 100-hourly simple moving average, with an ascending trendline intact on the hourly chart. The 7-day RSI sits at just under 40. It’s in an oversold condition, leaving a healthy room before holders usually trigger their profit-taking.
Volume dropped 25–32% to a range of $1.68–$2.98 billion, and buying into a key resistance level is rarely a green flag. Wave C correction completion and an RSI bullish cross, but cautions that conference-driven pumps often lack follow-through once the event hype cools.
XRP is likely to consolidate between $1.38–$1.45, waiting for institutional volume to confirm the breakout. RLUSD adoption on OKX could provide the next demand catalyst. But once again, it’s ripple, not XRP

XRP at $1.40 is a genuinely constructive setup, but even the bull case targets of $1.55, or even maybe $2.00, represent 10–40% upside from a $73 billion market cap asset. That’s a meaningful move. It’s also nowhere near the asymmetry available at the infrastructure layer, where this cycle’s real leverage tends to live.
