Dayforce introduces new products aimed at improving its HCM
ShareShareShareShareShare

At last year’s Ceridian user conference, customers learned that the company would fully rebrand as Dayforce. This change was centered on the organization’s ambitions to increase its presence in the cloud HCM market. At the end of 2023, approximately 6,400 customers had adopted the company’s platform, with reports showing that Dayforce has continued to grow under its new identity.

This year’s event, Dayforce Discover, drew over 3,000 in-person attendees and thousands more online, according to keynote content. In the opener, CEO David Ossip highlighted key metrics, including the company’s $1.7 billion* in revenue (compared to about $1.5 billion in fiscal year 2023), 6,700 customers and a 97% client retention rate.

Strong financial health indicates that Dayforce seems to have established a firm foothold in the market. According to Ossip, the company is focused on practical AI applications to deliver exceptional experiences throughout the employee lifecycle. This aligns with industry trends emphasizing the growing role of AI and machine learning in enhancing HR processes that benefit administrators as well as enterprise users.

Dayforce’s HCM innovation priorities

In an exclusive media and analyst session at Discover, Ossip shared the company’s priority to leverage AI for solutions HR leaders need and want, such as creating learning courses and handling payroll tasks. “And while we continue to compete and lead in terms of compliance—the rest of the entire suite, across talent, across analytics—can play head to head,” he said.

A key focus is continuous improvement and innovation in AI and HR tech, particularly delivering functional advantages to customers. Behind that effort are several AI-powered innovations showcased at the event, Ossip said.

  • “Dayforce AI Agents” are designed to streamline workflows through automation. Integrated with Dayforce Co-Pilot, these agents are designed to enhance productivity across HR, payroll, time management, talent and people analytics.
  • “Dayforce Strategic Workforce Planning” is an AI-driven tool to address complex workforce-planning challenges. The new functionality offers leaders a centralized, real-time view of critical data to inform workplace decision-making.
  • “Dayforce Communications” is a new solution for HR teams to create and distribute scalable correspondence. It streamlines personalized communication with current and potential employees (as well as alumni, who may be tapped to reenter the organization) across various channels, such as SMS, email and the Dayforce Hub.
  • Another highlight is Dayforce’s “Flex” product, designed to help managers fill shifts by posting them to an internal talent pool or external networks. According to Dayforce representatives, Flex currently fills shifts 50% of the time within 25 seconds.

More talent product updates

With about 1.7 million workers still missing from the post-pandemic workforce, as reported by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, acquiring new talent has become a critical priority for HR leaders striving to address this gap and maintain organizational stability.

That’s where John Whyte, director of Dayforce’s talent product team, says the company’s ongoing investments in talent management come in. Updates to the talent acquisition platform emphasize speed, efficiency and user-friendliness for both recruiters and candidates.

AI-supported job descriptions

Recruiters can use Dayforce Co-Pilot to create polished, professional and role-specific job descriptions. “We know that job descriptions in HR can often be incomplete, unappealing or even nonexistent,” said Whyte. Co-Pilot automates this process, ensuring consistency and quality.

Account-free applications

Candidates can now apply without creating an account, a feature addressing longstanding user requests. While account creation offers benefits like job alerts and saved searches, Whyte noted, “If they just want to get in the door and apply for the job, they can do that.”

QR code applications

Recruiters can generate custom QR codes for job postings, simplifying the application process. This feature is ideal for job fairs and high-traffic campaigns, enabling fast, mobile-friendly submissions.

Enhanced recruiter interface

A redesigned Dayforce dashboard features actionable insights, split-view resume assessments and faster page loads. Early adopters are already using the interface, with plans to roll it out to all customers in the first half of next year.
