Platform Accounting Group acquires Burke & Associates

Platform Accounting Group acquired Burke & Associates CPAs under the new name Shoreline Advisors, expanding the Top 50 Firm’s presence in Massachusetts.

The firm services small and mid-sized businesses across architecture, design, real estate, technology and more. It adds offices in Boston, Rockland, Woburn, Massachusetts, as well as more than 20 employees.

“For decades, we’ve worked to serve our clients with personalized attention and expertise to support their business’s sustainable growth,” John Burke, managing director of Shoreline Advisors, said in a statement. “We are excited about this next chapter within the Platform ecosystem.”

Platform ranked No. 41 on Accounting Today’s 2026 Top 100 Firms list, with $216 million in revenue and over 1,100 employees across 53 offices.

The firm has been growing rapidly through acquisitions, adding over ten firms. This year, it added St. Clair & Associates in Pennsylvania in April, Accounting Specialists in Florida in March, Smeriglio Associates in Connecticut in February, and Riibner and Associates in Maryland in January. In February 2024, it received an $85 million funding round led by Cynosure Group of Salt Lake City.
